Cost calculation details:

  • Storage space price: $1.8 per GB annual price (based on AWS EBS cloud storage prices for AWS EU servers). (non-adjustable)

  • Cost per Hour: $75 (adjustable)

    • The average hourly cost for a developer team member in your organization assigned for the processes above. This should include wages, benefits, and any overhead associated with employment. Realistic figure based on the current rates.

Parameters:

  • Golden image production database ratio: 33% of the initial size (non-adjustable ratio).

  • Virtual Databases (copies) ratio: 10% of the initial size (non-adjustable ratio).

The formula

  • Before Accelario (standard scenario)
    Total size = (Number of duplicates + 1 ) * total size of prod databases, e.g (5+1)*2000Gb = 12000 GB

  • With Accelario:
    Total size = size of prod databases only * ( 0.33 + number of VDB duplicates * 0.1)
    e.g.: 0.33*2000 + 5*0.1*2000 = 1666 GB

Delta (saved storage): the difference between the scenario before Accelario and with Accelario
Reduction is a ratio between the scenario before Accelario and with Accelario

e.g. Delta = 12000-1666 = 10334, and reduction is 86%.

Financial impact:

  • Time savings: Financial impact and savings are calculated as a result of the processes' spent time multiplied by the cost per hour on an annual basis.

  • Storage savings: Financial impact and savings of database storage footprint are calculated as the multiplication of the storage size and storage space price on an annual basis.
