Release Notes - Data Virtualization Platform V36.0

New Features and Enhancements

Accelario Version 36 focuses primarily on urgent customer-driven enhancements, delivering important stability improvements, storage reliability fixes, and usability refinements across the platform. This release strengthens system robustness, security, and operational consistency in real-world production environments.

Storage & Infrastructure Reliability Improvements

iSCSI Auto-Reconnection Enhancements

Improved system resilience by ensuring automatic iSCSI drive reconnection after:

  • Source Windows server reboot

  • Target Windows server reboot

  • Accelario server reboot

Additionally:

  • Fixed issue where iSCSI storage passwords were ignored for identical storage users.

These improvements significantly increase storage reliability and reduce manual intervention after restarts.

ZFS & NFS Stability Enhancements

  • Added support to configure ZFS sync behavior for VDBs.

  • Enabled adding a disk with a custom path without strict validation.

  • Improved GI refresh process by automatically disabling and re-enabling NFS shares.

  • Ensured the system checks actual dNFS state directly from the OS instead of relying on stored state.

  • Added free space validation before GI creation for MySQL and PostgreSQL Native Backup database types.

These updates provide better storage accuracy, safer provisioning, and improved operational reliability.

Security & Data Protection Improvements

  • Passwords are now hidden on the VDB information screen.

  • Adjusted MySQL VDB snapshot locking mechanism to use a less intrusive lock.

  • Removed internal/hidden snapshots and special autosync behavior for MSSQL Native Backup GIs (technical debt cleanup).

These changes improve both security posture and snapshot handling consistency.

Database & Backup Process Enhancements

  • Fixed issue where Auto Sync failed if TLog backup was still in progress.

  • Modified database connection testing to initiate from the GI agent instead of the Accelario server, improving network alignment and reducing failures.

  • Hid the “Analyze snapshots automatically” checkbox for MSSQL Live/NB/Azure TDE flows where not applicable.

These enhancements improve operational stability and reduce edge-case failures.

User Experience & Usability Improvements

  • Added option to set a custom temporary directory by default.

  • Hid unnecessary popup messages related to background auto-refresh.

  • Extended Swagger API documentation for better integration and developer experience.

These refinements provide a cleaner UI and improved customer interaction with the platform.
