Configure Source Database for the RMAN mode

Prerequisites:

The Source databases should be in “archivelog” mode.
You can check it by running this sql-query:
select LOG_MODE from v$database;

If the result is different from “ARCHIEVELOG“ then use this manual to change the database archiving mode.

The Source Database Configuration:

  • Select the giAgent (1)

  • Press the “ADD SOURCE DB“ button (2)

  • Fill additional parameters OS User, ORA Sid, ORA Home Dir (3). They are needed for the rman-commands

Press the “SAVE“ button and wait until the new Source Database will appear in the list.

Be patient! It may take a few minutes, or even hours for giant databases.

 

From that moment the new Source Database will appear on the Snapshots Management Screen

 

If you need update the RMAN Source Database press the “Refresh“ button
