Creating a Duplicate

To create a Duplicate:

  1. Select the Snapshot from which the new duplicate should be created

  2. Click the “Duplicate“ icon

  3. Specify the duplicate’s name and press the “CREATE“ button:

     

 

The new Duplicate will appear in tree on the root-level:

The duplicate creation is long operation. So we lock the new duplicate till it will be fully created. It’s not allowed to take snapshots, start VDB, delete this item or the snapshot selected for the duplicate creation.

 

When the duplicate creation will done the lock will be turned off:

The new snapshot (the same as the original snapshot) will be added automatically. From that moment it will be possible to do any manipulations with the duplicate (take snapshots, start as VDB, delete etc.)

 

To prevent disk overflow, the duplicates creation is not allowed if the disk has less 20% of free space
