This tutorial has only basic steps which are required to initiate masking job in database.

It does not include all advanced options. For advanced options we recommend to use our User’s Guide or call our support.

  1. Login screen. Enter credentials

You may also use “Select Tables” button, so you may include a subset of tables in scan.

When you finished with tables/schema/database selection click the “Add” button

This operation may take some time as it scans the metadata in source database and adds it to the masking dictionary.

  1. Sensitive data search. Scans the source database for sensitive data.

From the drop-down list choose your environment you previously created.

Push “Scan” button in right upper corner of the screen to start scanning.

  1. Choose the Privacy policy you want to use. For more explanations on privacy policy, refer to In-Place Masking application

  2. Choose number of parallel processes, this will set a number of tables scanned at a time.

  3. Number of unique values, is number of unique rows which will be analyzed during scan.

  4. Search optimization - has two values “Performance” and “Accuracy”. When you choose “Performance”
    the scan will complete faster at expense of results accuracy.

  5. Enable “Auto Refresh”.

  6. Push “Search” button, it will start the scan

After search has been completed, the results/findings are displayed

Press the “Details” button it will bring you to a screen where you can proceed with farther masking

Press “Update Masking” button

It will bring you to a screen with all masking rules you applied

Press “Mask” button to start the masking process.

Choose number of tables to mask at a time (Parallel processes)

Then you will be brought to “Progress Monitor” screen where you can observer status of the job
