  1. Data Sources. Shows all configured database connections.

To add a connection, use “Add Data Source” button in upper right corner of the screen

Choose the desired database connector (e.g Oracle)

Fill all the fields with appropriate values and enable checkbox to Create Environment.

You can also test connection and verify it is valid.

If connection is unsuccessfull, you will receive a relevant message to check port, host, service name or user

You may troubleshoot the connection from the host where In-Place Masking server is installed:

  1. check if the host is reachable: ping <database server>

  2. check if port is accessible: telnet <database server> <port>

  3. verify with your IT team if firewall rules are set properly between database server and In-Place Masking one.

  1. Environments. Add the previously created “Data Source” to the masking environment

Push “Add Environment” button and choose schemas, tables you would like to scan

When you chose your “Data Source” the application will present you with schemas/databases where you can choose some of them or all of them.

You may also use “Select Tables” button, so you may include a subset of tables in scan.
