PoC approach - virtualization

For the PoC to be successful we need to define a set of tasks to be accomplished within reasonable timeframe while also utilizing reasonable resources.

PoC goal is not to create a production like system, but to show capabilities of our product while using real data from customer

The progress of PoC should be fairly quick and not to take more than one week.

During the week Accelario team should be able to install the product, given that customer prepared required infrastructure.

PoC task proposed should be as following:

  • Create GI and create a first snapshot

  • Refresh GI and create a second snapshot

  • Create VDB from first snapshot

  • Create VDB from second snapshot

  • If there were changes in the source database, you should be able to see a difference between 1st and 2nd VDB

  • Make changes in one of VDBs and restore it back to original snapshot - demonstrates the capability to revert changes on VDB

The next limit criteria for the PoC should be proposed to customer:

Oracle database size - 300 GB
MSSQL database size - 50 GB
PostgreSQL database size - 50 GB
Maximum 1 GI will be created
Maximum 2 VDBs to create
